Version 0.4

New stuff:

There is now support for the CaptionMod from MetaHookSv (a plugin framework for SvenCoop which is compatible with vanilla HL)

This means it is possible to play the game with Na'vi subtitles!

However it only works if you install MetaHookSv and run Half-Life using it. It's a bit complicated, and I had trouble with Windows Defender flagging VGUI2Extension.dll as a false positive, so I reccommend waiting until that is sorted out first before trying it.

If you're going to install it, the only plugins you need to enable for subtitles to work are CaptionMod.dll and VGUI2Extension.dll

Fixes:

  • Titles.txt (Hud text):
    • Intro: Changed "HRRAPÌRI EYAWRA AYHEM: Tsun tsat pive'un" to "KRRA LEN HRRAP: Tsun tsonit pive'un"
  • Textures:
    • Changed the verb on the laser shield sign from "lew si" to "tìftang si"
  • Voices (Vox):
    • Vox: Lines C1A0_2, C1A0_16 and C1A1_9 - fixed "Tìvezeykusoa" --> "Tìvezeykusoä"
  • Voices (Scientists):
    • Added missing "ke" to "Kawkrr ke srefamey futa oel Ngamä Syananti tsaye'a" and changed "keng ngayop" to "fu ngop keng"
    • Added missing "-l" rearranged the words in to "Ftolia tsamsä'ot ngal nìteng srak?" and changed "ruseya swirä" to "rusey"
    • Fixed "E" sound in "E, ma Frimìn." (ahfreeman.wav)

Workflow:

I'm looking into translating Half-Life: Blue Shift after the original is done. It has a pretty small scope, but it also features a new character and a lot of words that are annoying to translate, like "pressure release valve", "freight records", "railroad yard tow engine bay 5", just to name a few :P

I've set up a simple script that lets me work with all of the files in one directory, and then export two zip files that only contain stuff relevant to each game, so most of the time spent on Blue Shift will just be coming up with the translations :D
