man i enjoy this game i hope it will get updated :)

I liked the game, I'm waiting for an update from portal and left 4 dead!

Will this be updated?

(+4)

Yes, I am still working on an update from time to time, but it's probably going to be a long time before it comes out 😅

Good to hear :)

played and this was fun, wish there was a endless tho

(+2)

cant wait on a new update

man I just waiting to see a portal section that would be interesting

Mobile plz :c

how did you make this? i know its unity but is there some sort of system? basically im asking if theres a video tutorial on how to make a game like inscryption

Not that I'm aware of. I only followed a tutorial by @TheKiwiCoder on how to make a custom behaviour tree editor, which I used to drive all of the card/item mechanics, battle sequences,  and the flow of dialogue. I spent a lot of time replaying the intro of Inscryption to figure out how things worked, and tried my best to replicate it. Some parts of the code are very messy. I'm not promising anything, but I might consider open sourcing part of the game sometime after I finish the update.

oh, an open source would be nice. is the next update the portal one? anyway, nice work! honestly its really fun but is kinda short, maybe in the next one you could add counter strike?

this is good stuff, the only inscryption fangame thats free too

10/10

I have fallen in love with the idea of a 3D card game

(+2)

I keep coming back to this, love the dramatic lighting.

Good mashup .

But it is a little bit annoying to play without being able to look up what the symbols actually mean .
Does this game even have an almanac like in the original Inscryption , or am i blind and haven't found it ?

(+6)

Not yet. I've been working on and off on an update which will also include a rule book.

Yooo! This was 5 days ago. Is this project actually not dead?? Cuz I just played it and I think it has a lot of potential! Hope you actually go through with it (

can't wait for the next update

I thoroughly enjoyed playing through this fangame, paying great homage to its several source materials. It really was like playing act 1 all over again. Sadly it was over so quickly... hope that you'll find the courage and motivation to fully complete this game.

Some things I noted:

  • The power curve is much higher, especially for scrap cards. 5 scrap for a heavy seems like too cheap. Same for Pyro and Demo who are quite cheap for their overall damage output and extra health over Inscryption equivalents (Mantis and Mantis God). But I suppose that battles are currently ended too quickly for an 8 cost to matter due to the lack of terrain and thus an easy route to dealing 5 direct damage with Vortigaunts or even Tentacle (easily spawned with Scientist or Chumtoad)
  • There's not much to do standing up. I get the focus is on the card games, but I expected some cabinet puzzles and some useless interactable gadgets in both campaign areas, rather than the single Scientist card and (optional if you don't die) Life Lights in HL, and the uninteractive 2fort spawn room of TF2
  • Some encounters have a very strong hand. I suppose this is mainly for people not taking advantage of the scale and the items they get, but a Gonarch turn 2 or a Heavy turn 1 (with a Medic, and then another Heavy later) are a bit too much I think, especially if you take to nerfing some of the very powerful cards the player is able to get
  • Having the camera pan to the scale when any direct damage is dealt and then back again repeatedly for all cards dealing: it should sum up all the damage and then show you all at once once one's turn fully ends.
  • Some sigils sometimes doesn't work. I've had a Scout stay in place after attacking for some reason. Or a Pyro attacking only its opposing card.
  • There's no rulebook. This is mainly a problem for opponent cards as the enemy plays certain cards with unknown sigils (like Headcrab's kill-to-evolve) before you get them properly explained by a card choice. But I can always forget what certain sigils do after that...
  • Maybe limit the maximum amount of items one can get? (and thus there is a Pack Rat equivalent?) Mainly for practical reasons, because you're going to run out of table space eventually
  • Perhaps some card modification events could be added, would make the metagame more interesting than picking cards and getting items.
  • I know you know and it doesn't affect the current game too much because it's so short, but... the ability to save. If this eventually gets a Portal expansion as is teased at the end, then it'll really need it so the player doesn't have to start all the way back at the tutorial if they lose to two unfortunate encounters in a row in Portal.

its not the 2fort spawn room, its the hightower spawn room

Hey. I know you probably don't read these comments anymore, but I just want to let you know that this game is incredible. I don't play card games or strategy games in general, specifically because they're entire other boring IPs I could care less about and have no motivation to learn the mechanics of each card. This game is one of the only games I have ever had the luxury of playing that could be simple, yet so fun. It makes me remember when I first discovered l4d2, thinking it would be like other shooters where there's a complicated levelling system or something, but was pleasantly surprised to see it was just basic controls and pure fun.

A simple way to put this, is you took the IP of an amazing franchise, and turned it into a strategy card game, made sure it wasn't too hard to learn or understand, and added two chapters that are still fun to replay even after I've completed it. I don't know if you'll ever read this, as it looks like you've given up on this project as a whole, and if you have, please continue. This project, while small in comparison to other games, is already in my top ten, simply because of how well it's made.

Thats all I have to say. Have a good day. :)

I wanna play Inscryption before playing this, but man this fan game looks great.

Very fun game overall
I hope we get to see more of it

i just played through this and by god, this may be one of the greatest Valve fan games ever. i cannot wait for the next update. the potential for this is absolutely massive, i imagine that the fourth section (using Majik cards likely) would be dota themed. the only real criticism i have is that the voices aren't that good, it'd be better (in my opinion) if instead you have a sound effect or instrument that fits the character speaking. like when when Glad0s is talking have computer beeping or for spy have like a violin.

overall i rate this game a 8/10 and i can't wait for more content

(-2)

Can you make this to a browser game because i dont have winrar

(+1)

HTML_Earth,

Do you have any idea when you will release the next version/update to Stasis? I and many, many others are eagerly awaiting additional content and more cards and possibly new mechanics.

(+2)

my dude, you are a fucking legend. please when this comes out let me know i love the shit out of this fan game! much love to you! <3

How to get Hgrunt, Nihilanth, Gonarch, and those unusable cards?

and i notice that there is no spy card if it's something with lore you can leave it but if it's not you can do the "amphibia" mechanic from inscryption

(1 edit)

i think you should do two game mods starter (with not random cards) and FREEman (with random cards) that would do game re-playeble (that's how you write it? (and player can't get the nihilanth and that spider thing can you fix that)

(-2)

can you make a MacBook download?

(+1)

Stasis is not a very well-known game, and porting a game to Mac is an absolute pain, especially for small developers, but I suppose it's possible...

Unity can export to Mac, so it's really not that hard.

(+3)(-1)

just get a windows pc nerd

(+1)

I can't wait for the next update where you add Portal! I'm also hoping you make the Half-Life 1 segment a little longer.

this is great

(+1)

The game is a tad bit too easy and the tutorial phase which I'm assuming is Half-Life segment is too short.

But overall I love the game and find it very fun :)

(-3)

"""""""""""""""""easy"""""""""""""""""

(-1)

What's the point of the scientist?
is it just a different type of Snark?

(+1)

pretty much but it useful with tentacles or anything else for 2 host

i like this but you need to add randomazation

Absolutely excellent. Would love to play a full game of this.

hi i downloaded the game but dont know how to start game so please anyone that can help me reply to me I would be appreciated.

Very nice and quite polished!

Not sure why, but after my first loss, I can't put the light on the table at all. What's up with that? I seem to just be soft-locked and unable to do anything beyond moving around the room.

Okay nevermind, figured it out. You have to go to the right of the table and click on it. The game isn't exactly clear on that, so maybe you should give instructions for it.

(1 edit)

Italian gameplay

it was an awesome experience. only problem is game being very easy. finale round was a little bit hard but game just gives you ambassador, barnacle, kritzkrieg, 2 snarks and 2 scrap jars

i don't feel that happy since inscryption

i miss this game so much and this short experience just made me feel awesome

it was a surprise to me but when i see the way the dialogue was made in the first moments...

i just feel an immesurable amount of joy in the deepest of my hearth

thank you, that really was a great experience

(1 edit)

have you played the kaycee mod? it turns phase one into a challenge run with modifiers. This game however is awesome for an alternate story mode.

Yeah i played It as soon as i could

But isnt the same thing, i missed the mystery, the Air of "It is only the Begin of a much greater thing"

The Hope for a continuation

I missed the story

And isnt that easy to get that back

Never liked a game like i liked inscryption before

It was the perfect game for me

Everything i like was there

(+1)(-2)

they way you blended the Half Life world with Inscryption gameplay seamlessly is extremely impressive! I would love to see what you could do with a full game. Thanks for your work on this, it was a pleasure to play.

Could not get it finished, I failed. Most of it is here though I think. I try not to post unfinished things but this is one of those fan games that needs to be seen!

Thank you so much for this! This was seriously charming and it's a steal this is free instead of a few bucks (although I realize you probably can't ask for or charge for this game given the IP.)

(+1)

awesome job! hope we get an endless mode at some point.
